England vs Chile Predictions - Chile can compete against changed England

I fancy Chile to lose by less than 50.

This will be the first encounter between England and Chile.

There were huge concerns about England heading into this World Cup. They had a poor Six Nations campaign and things didn’t get much better during the warm-up games which included a home defeat to Fiji.

That said, England have been solid in their opening two games, and already looks like a team that could take some beating. They have not been particularly good, but their solid defence and ability to force penalties has seen them over the line.

England beat the more fancied Argentina in their first game 27-10 with George Ford kicking all the points. It was followed with a 34-12 win over Japan last time out.

England scored four tries to secure the bonus point against the Brave Blossoms. While the contest was tight for the first 55 minutes, England proved far too strong in the final quarter.

This is the game where England will rest a host of players. Expect the likes of Marcus Smith, Owen Farrell and others to get a run here.

Chile have impressed many in their debut World Cup campaign thus far. They were very competitive and played some good rugby along the way.

In their opener, Chile went down 42-12 to Japan before losing 43-10 to Samoa last weekend. While both scorelines look big, Chile were within a score at halftime against both sides.

Over 80 minutes Chile do tend to run out of steam but that is the nature of the game when you don’t play against big sides regularly.

With a week between games, Chile are unlikely to make too many changes to their side.
