Australia vs Georgia Preview
Australia are obvious favourites but this Georgian side has plenty of quality. While I feel over 80 minutes that Australia will have enough in the tank, I am backing Georgia to get within the 22-point handicap.

Head to Head
These two met in the 2019 Rugby World Cup, a match Australia won 27-8.
Australia Form
Australia come into this World Cup under massive pressure. They are on a five-match losing streak under Eddie Jones after they failed to win any Rugby Championship match this season.
Australia lost at home to Argentina and New Zealand while they were hammered in South Africa. In the second Bledisloe Cup test the Wallabies were more competitive in Auckland but still lost, albeit narrowly.
That was followed by a 41-17 loss to France in their final warm-up game. The score does however not tell the full story and poor goal-kicking really gave the French the edge.
Regardless, Georgia are not an easy team to face first up. Many expect this pool to have plenty of upsets so if the Aussies can get off to a strong start, it could be the start of a good campaign.
Australia Injuries & Team News
Eddie Jones no doubt has a few tricks up his sleeve for the World Cup, but I doubt he’ll take any risks first up. He will almost certainly put out his strongest side.
Georgia Form
Georgia will be confident heading into this match and the World Cup as a whole. They have won seven of their eight matches.
While many of those wins came against tier-two sides, the run began with a 13-12 victory over Wales at the Principality Stadium. In their final warm-up game Georgia led Scotland 6-0 at halftime, but the Scots turned it on after the break to win 33-6.
That being said, Georgia have the forward pack to put Australia under immense pressure. If they manage that, who knows what could happen later on in the game.
Georgia Injuries & Team News
Georgia will fancy their chances this year and getting out of the pool could be a possibility. A full-strength side is expected.
Verdict
Australia have lost five on the bounce while Georgia have been very impressive. While the Wallabies should be too good over 80 minutes, I fancy Georgia getting within the 22-point handicap.
