Pool C looks pretty straightforward on paper and with the World Cup draw taking place three years ago, the current rankings and performances of the sides make this a pretty weak draw.

Australia are favourites but they have struggled over the last two years, and at the time of writing, lost their opening two Rugby Championship games. However, Wales are another side underperforming since 2019 so it could be interesting.

Pool C

Compared to Pool A and B, Pool C looks very weak. Australia have not performed well over the last few years and the appointment of Eddie Jones has also not improved fortunes. But, as said above, it could be interesting to watch Georgia and Fiji looking for an upset.

Then you have Portugal who will want to put in some strong performances. It is hard to see them beating any of the sides, but then again, Uruguay did defeat Fiji at the 2019 World Cup so who knows what can happen.
