Uruguay have shown their quality as a rugby side in recent years. They may not be at Argentina's level just yet, but they have a very competitve side. With Los Pumas making changes to their side, I see this as being quite a close call.

Uruguay have played just one friendly match since the completion of the Rugby World Cup in 2023. In that match, on July 10, 2024, they lost 43-28 to France at home.

During their World Cup campaign, Uruguay produced some stellar performances, most notably against France, losing 27-12. They went down 38-17 to Italy in a match where they lead comfortably at half time.

Uruguay beat Namibia before being thrashed 73-0 in their final match against the All Blacks.

Argentina Form

Argentina made another impressive run at the 2023 Rugby World Cup, reaching the semi-finals before being knocked out by New Zealand.

Los Pumas lost to England before beating Samoa, Chile and Japan to finish second in their group. They beat Wales 29-17 in the quarter-final and lost the third-place playoff 26-23 to England.

Over the last couple of weeks, Argentina have hosted France, losing the first test 28-13 with a very poor performance. They bounced back to level the series with a 33-25-win last weekend.
