Scotland have won three of their last four matches against Australia. They last met in 2022, a match Australia won 16-15. Eight of the last nine games between these sides have been decided by six or less points. In fact, there have been four one-point wins either way in that stretch.

Scotland have a good side, capable of beating anyone in the world on their day, particularly at Murrayfield. However, they also have a tendency to lose games they should be winning.
Since the Six Nations, Scotland have played mostly tier two sides, beating Canada, USA, Chile and Uruguay in July. In their first Autumn Nations Series game, the Scots beat Fiji 57-17, but that was a Fiji side missing all of their overseas star players.
Scotland then lost 32-15 to South Africa, but the scoreline does not suggest how close that game really was. Last week, at Murrayfield, Scotland put Portugal away 59-21.

Scotland will make a host of changes as they return to their full-strength line-up on Sunday.
Australia Form
Australia have become a very difficult side to read. However, the one guarantee is that they have started to find their identity under Joe Schmidt and are certainly better than they were a few months ago.
During the Rugby Championship, Australia were well beaten at home by South Africa twice. They then were lucky to win by a point against Argentina and the following week, the same opposition thrashed them 67-27.
The Aussies then lost twice to New Zealand, home and away. Coming into the Autum matches up north, there wasn’t much confidence placed on the Wallabies.
However, they surprised many with their attacking play, beating England 42-37 at Twickenham with a superb last-minute try. It was backed up last week by thrashing Wales 52-20 at the Principality Stadium.
Australia Injuries & Team News
Australia are likely to stick with a similar side from last week as they seek the grand slam this year. This is a must-win if they hope to still achieve that goal.
Verdict
This should be a very tight contest and could go either way. I am tipping Australia to get within 4.5 points.
