Head to Head
Fiji have never beaten Ireland. The last time these sides met, the Irish won 35-17 at home.
Ireland Form
Ireland have struggled in their first two matches during the Autumn Nations series. They have lost their world No. 1 ranking, dropping down to third behind South Africa and New Zealand.
There has been much criticism of Ireland over the last two weeks with many feeling their golden generation is starting to age and having less of an impact. However, they have had two tough games and have not played together much in recent months.
A fortnight ago, Ireland lost 22-19 to New Zealand at the Aviva Stadium. That was their first loss in 20 games at home. Last week, the Irish bounced back with a slightly fortuitous win over Argentina, taking the game 22-19.
Ireland Injuries & Team News
Ireland are looking to bloody some new players while there is still some experience within their ranks. Keep an eye out for flyhalf, Sam Predergast who has come through the ranks with plenty of promise.
Fiji Form
Fiji rugby has arguably never been in a better place than it is now. They are playing their usual flamboyant brand, but with a lot more control and it has gotten them some huge results.
After beating England prior to the World Cup last year and then defeating Australia at the World Cup, the Fijians backed it up by claiming the Pacific Nations Cup this year. They did get hammered 57-17 by Scotland at the start of November, but Fiji were missing their overseas-based players for that game.
The following week, back at full-strength, Fiji beat Wales 24-19 at the Principality Stadium. Last weekend, Fiji had to come from behind to beat Spain 33-19.
Fiji Injuries & Team News
Mick Byrne has made wholesale changes after resting his star players against Spain last weekend.
Verdict
Fiji are backed to get within the 20-point handicap at the Aviva Stadium.
