The difference this year is however the quality that Tonga have in their squad. World Rugby changed the rules that allow teams to pick players that had previously been selected for other nations, which means the likes of Folau is now in the Tonga fold.

Tonga also beat Australia A in their most recent match, a result that will give them plenty of confidence.
