Australia were very good last week, that much was clear. Despite that, they were outplayed for large periods of the game and good defence mixed with some poor finishing from their hosts helped the Wallabies to victory.

South Africa began the Rugby Chmapionship with a bang, beating New Zealand 26-10 at home. They were utterly dominant but then lost the following week to the same opponents.

The consistency in the Springbok side has been a concern for some time now. They seem unable to produce consistent big performances, and that was proven last week as they went down 25-17 to Australia.

For much of the game South Africa dominated but they failed to take the opportunities once they presented themselves. This will be a focus coming into Saturday for the Springboks as they seek a victory that could put them in a good position to win the Rugby Championship.

Jacques Nienaber has been forced into some changes through injury. Lukhanyo Am, the Springbok of the year to date, is injured as is first and second choice flyhalves, Handre Pollard and Elton Jantjies.

Canan Moodie makes his international debut on the wing while Jesse Kriel slots in at 13 for the injured Am. Damian Willemse moves from fullback to flyhalf with Willie le Roux starting at fullback.

Other changes include Malcolm Marx and hooker and Steven Kitshoff at loosehead.
