Zebre vs Lions Predictions - Lions to dominate in Italy

The Lions thrashed Zebre 61-19 in Johannesburg last season.

With the first four rounds of the URC complete, Zebre are placed 15th with one win and three defeats.

The season began with a narrow 22-17 defeat at Cardiff before Zebre pulled off an incredible second half performance to upset Munster at home. Down at the break, the Italians clicked into gear in the second 40, winning the match 42-33.

Since then, things have not gone so well. Zebre lost 36-5 at home to the Stormers and last week went down 33-3 at defending champions, Glasgow.

Zebre have made a few changes after two rather poor performances. At home, the Italians can turn it on as we saw against Munster.

Into their fourth season of the URC, the Lions are starting to show signs of being a very good side. They have been a mid-table side for the first three seasons, but this one looks like it could be very different.

The Johannesburg-based outfit have won their opening three matches, picking up a four-try bonus point in two of them. After not playing in round one, the Lions scored two hope wins over Ulster and Edinburgh in rounds two and three.

Last week, in their first game on tour, the Lions beat the Dragons 23-19. It wasn’t the Lions’ best performance as they had to get used to conditions, but they will hope for some improvement this weekend.

The Lions have made a few rotations to their side for this encounter. However, they are not taking Zebre lightly as a five-point bonus point win could be crucial.
