Ulster Form
Ulster have had a decent start to the 2024/25 URC season, winning two and losing two of their opening four matches. They are currently eight on the table.
On the opening weekend, Ulster were largely outplayed at home by the defending champions, Glasgow. But the Ulstermen stayed in the game and took control in the final quarter, winning the fixture 20-19 in the end.
They then toured South Africa where the Lions beat Ulster 35-22 in Johannesburg and a week later the Bulls thrashed them 47-21 at Loftus Versfeld.
Ulster returned home from the highveld of South Africa to beat Connacht 32-27 in a tight contest at home last weekend. It was a typical Irish derby with plenty of physicality which Ulster ultimately got the better of.
Ulster Injuries & Team News
Last week’s win over Connacht has come at a price for Ulster. Captain Iain Henderson has failed his HIA and will miss the match. As will midfielders, Stewart Moore and Jude Postlethwaite.
Ospreys Form
Ospreys have made a slow start to the season with just one victory from their opening four fixtures. They currently hold 13th place on the URC table.
In round one, the Ospreys should have held on for victory against the Dragons but allowed the hosts a late score to snatch a 23-21 win. That was followed by an impressive home 37-24 victory over the Stormers.
In horrid conditions in Ireland, Ospreys struggled against Munster, losing the fixture 23-0 in in round three before going down 29-19 at home to the Bulls last weekend.
Ospreys Injuries & Team News
Ospreys are expected to make a few changes for this away clash.
Verdict
Ulster are backed to cover the -10 handicap on home soil.
