Last season, these sides met on two occasions, each winning their home game. Munster won 29-24 at home in June this year while Ulster won 21-14 on home soil in November 2023.

Ulster have made a stuttering start to their URC campaign and will need a decent run of results to get up the table. They are currently 10th with three wins from seven games.
Over the last two weeks in the European Challenge Cup, things have not gone well for Ulster. They were hammered 61-21 by Toulouse in France before going down 40-19 at home to Bordeaux last weekend.
Prior to the European break, Ulster lost two successive URC fixtures to Cardiff and Leinster. Their last victory in all competitions came on 18 October against the Ospreys.

This is a crucial match for Ulster, so I do expect a full-strength lineup. They have rested players over the last two weekends in order for them to be fit this weekend.
Munster Form
Munster are in a similar position to Ulster, currently 11th on the table just below their hosts. With three wins from seven, Munster will need a turnaround in fortunes to get up into the home quarter-final berth.
Munster have shown vast improvement of late though, which is a positive. After losing three successive games at Leinster, Stormers and Sharks, Munster bounced back to beat the Lions 17-10 at home in their last URC game.
The Irish outfit thrashed Stade Francais 33-7 at home in the Champions Cup a fortnight ago before narrowly losing out 16-14 to Castres last weekend.

Munster won’t be taking this derby lightly at all. It is a huge game for both sides with defeat ensuring they drop further down the table.
