Scarlets vs Connacht Predictions - Connacht backed for away URC win

Connacht hosted Scarlets in March this year and won the game 26-10.

Scarlets will be desperate to get a positive result after a poor start to their season in the opening two rounds.

In round one, Scarlets got a decent result away against Benetton, drawing 20-20, but they will feel they should have taken the victory. Last weekend, the Welsh side suffered a home derby defeat against Cardiff.

It was a very tight contest until Cardiff pulled more than a score ahead in the final 20 minutes. It was a game the Scarlets were expected to win, and they will do whatever they can to avoid two successive home losses.

Scarlets need to get the win so nothing short of their strongest side will do for this fixture.

Connacht began the season with a strong performance away to Munster but ultimately came up short in a superb game.

The lead exchanged hands constantly as both defences seemed to struggle early in the season. Unfortunately for Connacht, Munster had the edge at 80 minutes, winning the game 35-33.

Last week Connacht started well at home to the Sharks. However, their early try was followed by 20 minutes of superb rugby by the visitors and the hosts went into the break 27-7 down.

What followed in the second half was a titanic comeback as Connacht returned from the dressing rooms with far more intensity. They secured a 36-30 win in a very dramatic comeback.

Last week would have taken a physical toll on the Connacht players. I’d be very surprised if there aren’t three or four changes.
