Munster vs Stormers Preview
In a repeat of the URC final last year, Munster are favourites to win at home. The 10-point handicap is however quite steep so I’m backing the Stormers to get within that margin.

Head to Head
Last season Munster beat the Stormers 26-24 away from home in the round-robin match of the URC. They met again in the final, again in Cape Town where Munster were again victorious 19-14.
Munster Form
Munster have won two, lost one and drawn one of their opening four URC games this season. They come into the season as defending champions, and while the start has not been perfect, it is better than they managed last season.
The Irish giants began the season with a 34-21 home win over the Sharks before drawing 13-13 away against Benetton. They then picked up a full house of points in their 45-14 thrashing of the Dragons.
Last week Munster suffered their first defeat of the season, going down 21-14 in an Irish derby at Ulster. While the hosts were good for the result, Munster showed plenty of fight to stay in the contest and get a losing bonus point.
Munster Injuries & Team News
Munster will want to get a win here to expect them to play their strongest available side. Diarmuid Barron will miss the match after suffering a concussion last week.
Stormers Form
The Stormers, who have played in the URC for two seasons and ended up as champions and then runners-up, will be looking for another statement season. They began this campaign with a bang but over the last fortnight, their form has drifted somewhat.
A 35-33 away win over the Lions got the Cape Town side off to a bonus point start. Another big win followed with a 52-7 success against Scarlets in Cape Town.
John Dobson’s men just haven’t managed to hit those heights in Europe as yet. They lost 20-9 to Glasgow before going down 20-17 to Benetton last weekend.
Stormers Injuries & Team News
John Dobson may look to make a few changes to his side. Much depends on a few late fitness tests.
Verdict
Stormers are backed to get inside the 10-point handicap. While a win is unlikely, there is some value in it for the visitors.
