Head-to-Head
Leinster hold a 19-2 advantage with 1 draw in the previous 22 matches.
The previous encounter saw Cardiff win 29-27 at home
Leinster Form and News
Leinster are top of the United Rugby Championship by some distance as they have won all twelve of the matches this year.
The Irish outfit have recently beaten Connacht at home by 41-12 and followed it up with a 24-19 away win at Ospreys. They would then beat Gloucester 49-14 away in the Champions Cup.
Their previous outing saw them beat Racing 36-10 in the Champions Cup. The match was even at the break but once again Leinster proved to have far too much ammo in the second half as they ran in five tries against a tiring French side that could not keep up.
Official team news is yet to be announced but all indications are that Leinster will rotate their team to give younger players a chance. Jonathan Sexton and Tadgh Furlong remain on the sidelines.
Cardiff Form and News
Cardiff have struggled to string a run of results together and find themselves in tenth place with six wins and six losses in their twelve matches.
Cardiff lost 22-19 at home to Ospreys and would then go on to lose 28-22 at home to Scarlets. Newcastle at home were up next in the Challenge Cup as Cardiff won 42-10.
The last match was a 37-24 away loss to Brive in the Challenge Cup. Brive dominated the first half and Cardiff came back to almost level the match in the second half. Brive ultimately proved to have too much left in the tank and ran in a couple tries to take the win.
Official team news is not yet available but we expect the same squad to be available. With the six nations on the horizon it may also prompt a change or two for the visitors.
Verdict
Leinster will be too good at home for Cardiff and even with a rotated a squad I expect them to cover the handicap.
