Glasgow vs Zebre Predictions - Hosts backed for comfortable URC win

The Warriors beat Zebre on both occasions last season.

Glasgow have started the season in reasonably good form as they attempt to defend their URC title. In the first two rounds, the Scots won two and lost one.

The season began with a 20-19 loss at Ulster, but the champions will still be disappointed. They dominated much of that fixture and should have been out of sight by the time poor discipline cost them in the final quarter.

However, the Warriors bounced back with a 42-10 win at home over Benetton in round two before taking Cardiff down 52-36 last weekend.

Glasgow will make a few changes as they do pretty much every week, regardless of injury. Franco Smith uses a small squad but utilises the players cleverly. He may see this as an opportunity to rest some big names.

Zebre who are perennial bottom feeders in the URC have started putting together some good performances. Despite finishing near the bottom last season, the Italians were far more competitive than previous years.

The 2024/25 United Rugby Championship kicked off with a narrow 22-17 away defeat to Cardiff. In round two Zebre put in arguably their finest URC performance ever, beating Munster 42-33 at home thanks to an incredible second half performance.

Last week, Zebre were brought back down to earth by a clinical Stormers side. The game ended 36-5 in Italy.

Zebre will be looking to rotate despite travel not being an issue this week. They were out-muscled last weekend and this week they face a side with a very strong maul attack.
