Both these sides come into this encounter having made very good starts to their season. I fancy this to be a very close fixture, much as both were last season. I’m backing Edinburgh to get inside seven points.

Glasgow Warriors have made a superb start to their season in the URC and will be looking to continue that on Friday. They have won five of their seven URC games to date and currently sit second, only three points off Leinster.

In their last URC game, the Warriors lost 40-29 at Munster before playing two European Challenge Cup games. They lost their opening game 28-19 at home to Northampton.

However, despite two straight defeats, Glasgow bounced back last weekend to beat Bayonne 12-11 away from home. While their current form isn’t what it was, the Scottish outfit has rested players over the last two weeks.

I expect Glasgow to be back at full strength this weekend after resting some players over the last two weeks in the Challenge Cup.

Edinburgh Form

Edinburgh are also having a fine season and are currently fifth on the URC table. Like their opponents, Edinburgh have won five of their seven URC games but have only picked up two bonus points in that time.

Last time out in the URC, Edinburgh put in a fine performance to beat Ulster 27-24 away from home. It was arguably their best performance of an already impressive season.

But, like their opponents, Edinburgh have been playing in the Challenge Cup over the last two weeks. They lost 31-18 away to Clermont but then beat Castres 34-21 at home last weekend.
