Cardiff are not very flashy but they are competitive, especially on home soil. While the Bulls are favourites I feel Cardiff can get within the eight-point handicap.

Cardiff come into this clash in 11th place with one win and two defeats from their three games. They have picked up two bonus points in the three games as well.

The season began with a very narrow and disappointing 23-22 home defeat to Benetton before beating the Dragons 16-9 in a Welsh derby. Last week the Blues lost 31-25 at Scarlets in another Welsh derby.

Both defeats have come by narrow margins which will give Cardiff some confidence. The bounce of the ball can quickly change their fortunes.

The Bulls have made a decent start to their season as they look for a third successive playoff place this season. The opening weekend 63-21 home thrashing of Scarlets was followed by a 26-19 away defeat to Ulster.

While a defeat wasn’t ideal the Bulls did well to get a losing bonus point against one of the stronger sides in the URC. The Pretoria-based outfit bounced back to beat Zebre 54-29 last weekend in Italy.

This is a crucial game for Jake White’s side as two away wins early in the competition will stand them in good stead later on. Especially when you consider how poor the Bulls were on the road last season.

White is expected to name a very strong side. He will have to wait until the Bulls return to South Africa before they get all their internationals back though.
