Everything points to this being a very tight contest. The handicap is also set at just one point. It is a tough one to call but I’m backing the Stormers to just get over the line.

Benetton are currently ninth on the table but level on points (10) with the Stormers who are fourth. The Italian outfit has yet to suffer defeat this season, it is just points difference separating them from the sides above them.

On the opening weekend, Benetton beat Cardiff 23-22 away in a nail-biting fixture. It was followed by another close one, this time Benetton held on at home to draw 13-all with the defending champions, Munster.

Last week Benetton won at home, beating the Lions 15-10. It was probably their least convincing performance of the season.

Benetton have selected a very strong side for this encounter. They will be looking to make it four in a row unbeaten.

Stormers Form

The Stormers have reached the URC final in their first two seasons, winning one but ending runner-up last season to Munster. They have started this season well again, winning two of their three games to date.

A 35-33 win over the Lions in Johannesburg got their season off to a bonus point start before they thrashed Scarlets 52-7 the following week. It was a full house of points again which put the Stormers top of the pile.

However, last weekend the Cape Town outfit went down 20-9 at Glasgow. Results in Europe are notoriously difficult to come by and the Stormers were nowhere near their fluent best.

It is tough for the South African franchise that likes to move the ball around in winter conditions.
