Sale vs Newcastle Predictions - Newcastle to continue woeful form

Three of the last four games between these sides have gone in Sale's favour.

The Sale Sharks have made a decent start to their season with two wins from the opening three games. They are down in sixth place after picking up just one bonus point in those fixtures and have a negative points difference.

In round one, Sale narrowly defeated Harlequins 12-11 at home in a scrappy game. A week later, Saracens hosted Sale, beating the visitors 45-26.

The Sharks bounced back last weekend with another close home game, beating Gloucester 31-27. It was another very good encounter but probably closer than Sale would have hoped.

The Sharks have not looked at the top of their game this season as yet. Despite that, they still have two wins from three, so I don’t expect anything other than a couple of rotational changes.

Newcastle are in one of their worst ever periods on the rugby field. Last season, they lost all their league matches and won one match in Europe.

They have started this season with three straight defeats and must be wondering where their next win will come from. The season got underway with a 24-3 home defeat to Bristol before a decent performance got them within two converted tries at Harlequins.

Last week, the Falcons were nowhere near good enough at home to Leicester Tigers, losing the game 42-10.

Newcastle do not really have the quality to compete in the Premiership, so any changes are likely to just further weaken the side.
