Exeter Chiefs have a slight edge with 18 victories to 15 against Northampton in 33 meetings.

Northampton Saints Form

In a repeat of last year's Premiership final, the Northampton Saints came off second best against Bath last weekend, losing 38-16.

Northampton conceded three tries in the first half against Bath, going into the break trailing 21-7.

Northampton narrowed the gap to eight points before Bath scored two more converted tries and a penalty between the 62nd and 79th minutes of the game to secure the win.

The Northampton Saints are the defending Premiership champions and have enjoyed regular success against the Exeter Chiefs in recent seasons, giving them the advantage to bounce back with a win at home.

Northampton Saints Team News & Injuries

Flanker Josh Kemeny scored a try in the 18th minute of the match against Bath.

Fly-half Fin Smith scored 11 points against Bath in total, which included one conversion and three penalties.

Exeter Chiefs Form

The Exeter Chiefs were on course to win their season opener against the Leicester Tigers at home before a late converted try denied them the victory.

Exeter trailed 3-0 against the Tigers at halftime before they took the lead for the first time in the second half, scoring a converted try in the 49th minute of the match and doubling their tally ten minutes later to lead 14-3.

However, the Leicester Tigers pulled seven points back by converting a try after 64 minutes of play before scoring a dramatic winning converted try at the 81-minute mark to seal the victory.

The Exeter Chiefs will look to make amends after letting victory slip through their hands in their previous outing; however, they were defeated twice by the Northampton Saints last season.

Exeter Chiefs Team News & Injuries

Greg Fisilau and Tom Cairns scored a try each against the Leicester Tigers in the second half.

Fullback Josh Hodge kicked two conversions in the match.

Verdict

The Northampton Saints have a solid record against Exeter in recent years and is tipped to cover the -10.5 handicap.
