Wellington vs Bay of Plenty Predictions - Value on Wellington in NPC clash

Wellington have won 10 of their last 11 matches against Bay of Plenty. Last season, Wellington won 26-14 away from home. 

Wellington are top of the NPC table after seven matches with six wins and one defeat. They are two points clear of Tasman, but the second placed side has a game in hand.

Going into the season, Wellington were favourites for the NPC title and that hasn’t changed. They won their first six games of the campaign before losing last Sunday.

The 28-15 defeat at Tasman won’t be too concerning as Wellington had to make changes to their side following a midweek fixture. 

Wellington will make quite a few changes to the side from last weekend. A few big players were rested after their midweek fixture the week before.

Bay of Plenty are having another very strong season and are currently placed third on the table. Victory here will send them above Wellington as they are only three behind.

The season started with a bang for Bay of Plenty, winning their first three matches and topping the table. However, that was followed by successive losses at Otago and Tasman.

Bay of Plenty bounced back well though, beating Manawatu 68-14 at home and last week, defeating defending champions, Taranaki 33-20 at home.

There should not be many changes to the side for this encounter. It is a big fixture as victory could put The Bay back in contention for top spot.
