Counties Manukau vs Wellington Predictions - Visitors to dominate NPC clash

The last six matches between these two sides have gone Wellington's way.

Counties Manukau have had a slod season and currently find themselves in eighth place, the final playoff spot. With just two matches remaining, and one point clear of those below them, Manukau will need a positive result in the last two weeks.

Two weeks ago, Manukau were in magnificent form at home, thrashing Otago 45-17. It was a dominant display against a side that had been performing well this season.

This past weekend, Counties Manukau were again in solid form but lost 36-28 at Canterbury. Unfortunately, they failed to get within seven points which would have secured a crucial bonus point.

Manukau have been good over the last few weeks and other than small rotational changes, should remain relatively unchanged. 

Wellington are top of the table currently with seven wins from their eight games. They are three points clear of Tasman who has a game in hand on them.

After starting the season as favourites and winning their first six games, Wellington looked ominous, but they then went down in midweek last week to Tasman 28-15.

The favourites did bounce back at home this past weekend, sneaking past Bay of Plenty with a 30-25 win. Wellington have just two games to play and victory in both will give them a chance to still top the table, should Tasman slip up along the way.

Wellington should be close to full strength this weekend.
