This should be a good contest between two sides who will be disappointed with their performances last weekend. I am backing Ireland to with the match by 1-12 points.

Ireland U20 looked in superb form earlier this year during the Six Nations, just missing out on the title by a point to England. After reaching the final of the U20 World Rugby Championship last year, they were hoping to go a step further.

However, Ireland will have to settle for third place at best. They comfortably beat Italy and narrowly got past Georgia in the group stage while their clash against Australia was called off due to bad weather.

Having to face England in the Cup semi-final wasn’t ideal and Ireland never really put their best foot forward. They were outfought for most of the game and the England set piece took control to win the game 31-20.

Expect a few changes to the Ireland squad but they will keep their best combinations going in the hope of victory.

New Zealand U20 Form

New Zealand U20 have both surprised and disappointed at various times during this tournament. They were below part against Wales in their opener, winning it 41-34. They were then sublime in beating France 27-26 before comfortably seeing off Spain.

However, last week, having to face the French again, the Baby All Blacks were outplayed, losing the game 55-31. They will hope to finish third with victory over Ireland and break the Northern Hemisphere top three.
