Last season the Cheetahs did the double on the Bulls. They won 38-25 in Pretoria before winning 35-5 at home in the final round.

The Cheetahs topped the 2022 Currie Cup table only to suffer an upset in the semi-final. They will desperately want to win the title this year, and have made a perfect start with two wins from two.

A comfortably 42-19 away win against the 2022 runners-up, Griquas was a convincing start. That was followed by a 52-12 humiliation of the Griffons last week.

The Bulls, one of four sides to have to field second string sides in the Currie Cup, have lost both of their opening games. They are second from bottom.

In round one the Pretoria-based outfit was humiliated at home 63-15 by the defending champions, Pumas. They were slightly better last week, going down 41-33 at home to Western Province.
