Bulls vs Sharks Predictions

Two weeks ago, I would have fancied the Bulls at home, but they lost their last two games, one of which was against the Sharks. This is going to be a close one and I feel the visitors could upset the odds at Loftus.

  • Bulls have won 7 of their last 10 matches.
  • Bulls have lost their last 2 matches.
  • Sharks have won 6 of their last 7 matches.
  • Sharks are unbeaten in their last 7 matches.
  • Sharks beat the Bulls by 8 points last weekend.

Head to Head

Sharks beat the Bulls 24-18 at home last weekend.

Bulls Form

The Bulls have enjoyed a strong season in the round robin stage, finishing second on the table with 38 points. They won seven, lost two and drew one game.

Quite concerning for the Pretoria outfit will be the fact that they topped the table for most of the league phase only to lose their last two games and surrender top spot. Up to then, the Bulls drew away to the Cheetahs in round five and won their other seven games.

In a top of the table clash a fortnight ago, the Bulls lost 57-33 at home to the Lions before going down 24-18 to the Sharks in Durban this past weekend.

Bulls Injuries & Team News

The Bulls performances over the last two weeks will be of slight concern, especially their loss to the Sharks last weekend. I do foresee a few changes to the side for this semi-final.

Sharks Form

The Sharks were not a team spoken of much at the start of the season after they lost their opening three games. Defeats to the Lions, Griquas and Pumas put the Durban side on the backfoot early.

However, since then the Sharks have fought back strongly, winning six of their last seven and drawing their other game. Over the last three weeks, the Sharks beat Western Province 31-23 away and the Griffons 75-19 at home.

Last weekend, already secure of a place in the semis, the Sharks were very good at home, beating the Bulls 24-18.

Sharks Injuries & Team News

Given the Sharks’ form recently, I would not imagine they will change too much with regards to their matchday squad.

Verdict

The Sharks are backed to upset the odds with a win by 1-12 points.
