The Bulls look set to top the Currie Cup table with an unbeaten record through seven games. At home they have looked close to unstoppable, and I don’t see that changing on Friday. I’m backing the hosts to cover the -22 handicap.

In their last meeting in the 2023 Currie Cup, the Bulls won 40-20 in Kimberley.

The Bulls are flying at the top of the Currie Cup table with six wins from their seven matches. Their only failure to win came away to the Cheetahs, a game that ended 34-34.

Last week the Bulls continued their good form, beating the Pumas 40-24 in Nelspruit. It was another good performance from a side that is looking increasingly tough to stop this season.

Prior to their win over the Pumas, the Bulls beat the Griffons 55-21 on home soil. They have scored 50+ points on three occasions this season already.

The Bulls may opt to rest some players for this fixture on home soil. A few Springbok players have also been released and could feature at some point.

Griquas Form

Griquas have struggled this season with just two wins from their seven matches. It has been a strange season in many ways for the Kimberley side who are normally very competitive on home soil.

After losing in round one, Griquas had to produce a superb second half performance to beat the Sharks 34-31 in round two. That was followed by four straight defeats to the Lions, Pumas, Lions again and the Sharks.

Last week, against the Griffons, Griquas were good, winning the game 59-7. However, given what the other sides have done to the Griffons, not much can be read into that result.

Griquas will need something spectacular to win this fixture and time is fast running out. Their strongest available outfit will almost certainly feature given they need to win their remaining games to even have a shot at the playoffs.
