- Due to possible rainy conditions, all teams only have Friday's practice to get their cars tuned, presenting a unique challenge.
- Norris has been displaying formidable skills and is likely to be a strong contender in the race, with good odds for him making top 3 in qualifying and achieving a podium finish.

2023 Belgian GP Predictions
The Belgian Grand Prix, or better known as The Spa-Francorchamps, is a favourite for all Formula 1 drivers and fans alike. The scenic views and historical value adds to the atmosphere of the F1 cars flying around the 7.004km long circuit, which is the longest on the F1 calendar.
There are iconic corners such as Eau Rouge/Raidillon and Pouhon which offer high speeds into rapid deceleration and the ascension and decline over the hilly circuit creates a visual effect of an F-16 instead of an F1 car.
This weekend at Spa will be the third sprint weekend of the 2023 calendar, meaning teams will have just Friday’s practice to get their car tuned in to the demands of a circuit that presents plenty of overtaking opportunities.
There is rain forecasted all weekend and, at the time of writing, there is going to be a lot of it, which presents challenges and opportunities for the drivers and teams this weekend.
Will this be the race that we see Red Bull give up the top step of the podium for the first time this season or will Max Verstappen continue his journey towards Sebastian Vettel’s nine consecutive race wins record, by taking his 8th in a row?
Belgian GP Qualifying Best Bet
Surprisingly in Hungary, it was Lewis Hamilton that snatched pole position from Max Verstappen in Q3 by 0.003sec, but I am not expecting this to happen again. There is an 80% chance of rain forecasted for Friday which will generally mean that there will not be a lot of laps under the belts of all the drivers which will give Verstappen an edge.
Lando Norris has come in as second favourite for qualifying at 1.50 to make the top 3, which after his recent performance over the last two races is where I will be laying my money. Norris has also proved over his few years in F1 that he is a driver to watch out for in the wet weather so it is a solid bet no matter what the conditions.
Belgian GP Best Bet
The reigning F1 champ Verstappen came from 14th on the grid last year, after qualifying on pole and taking penalties, and won the race by over 17 seconds, so it would be idiotic to predict anything other than a win for the Dutchman.
A third consecutive podium for British-Belgian Lando Norris would not look out of place here and with the weather conditions extremely unstable it would be worth laying a unit on the McLaren driver to take his maiden victory, if anything unexpected were to happen to Verstappen.
Belgian GP Best Bet (Betting Special)
With chaotic weather conditions predicted it is worth throwing in something crazy to your F1 betting lineup this weekend, however it doesn’t have to be too outlandish.
The Papaya fans of the McLaren MCL60, have had two drivers to cheer for since their upgrades at Silverstone, so backing Oscar Piastri for a podium finish in Belgium presents great value, especially with him being a little unlucky not to be there in the last two races.
Verdict
The Max Verstappen treble of Fastest Qualifier/ Race Win/ Fastest Lap is where the value is for the Red Bull driver this weekend. The form of the McLarens cannot go unrecognised so backing them both for a podium finish this weekend is where I will be laying my money.
