2021 Cape Town Met Tips
Durban July winner Belgarion beat Do It Again, Golden Ducat and Rainbow Bridge at Greyville. Since then, Justin Snaith's star has beaten RAINBOW BRIDGE over a mile in the Green Point Stakes, before finish third over behind Jet Dark in the Queen's Plate.
Rainbow Bridge was second in the Queen's Plate, finishing ahead of both Belgarion and Do It Again. He won the Sun Met two years ago and was second behind One World 12 months ago.
Rainbow Bridge is a natural over this trip, and his excellent record in the Met makes him the best of the geldings in my eyes.
Rainbow Bridge would be the top selection if QUEEN SUPREME wasn't involved. However, Mike De Kock has chosen to run his mare and she is the top pick.
Queen Supreme won her first Grade One in the Cartier Paddock Stakes at Kenilworth last January, and repeated the victory in the same race three weeks ago.
Queen Supreme is a mature five-year-old, has won two Grade Ones around this track and should handle the trip.
Queen Supreme gets at least four pounds weight allowance from the geldings, and she is the one to beat.
