2022 Durban July Runners

Kommetdieding flew home late to snatch a famous victory in the Durban July 12 months ago. After winning the 2022 Cape Town Met, the defending champion was cut into 6/1 to win his second Durban July. However, Kommetdieding has been beaten on his last two starts in the Horse Chestnut Stakes and the Premier Champions Challenge, forcing HollywoodBets to push the favourite out to 8/1.

Last year's runner-up, Linebacker hasn't been at his best so far this season, but remains the second-favourite to win the 2022 Durban July. He's been joined in the market by Mike de Kock's mare Sparkling Water, who's placed in both the Empress Club Stakes and the Premier Champion Challenge.

Runaway Fillies' Classic winner, Rain In Holland is the highest-placed three-year-old in the betting. She can be backed at 12/1, along with fellow three-year-old Safe Passage, who was beaten a neck in the first colt's Classic of the season.

Double Superlative, Hoedspruit and Pomp And Power also sit prominently in the Durban July market. As do Jet Dark, Warrior, Aragosta and former two-time winner, Do It Again.

66/1 outsider Astrix edged out Sparkling Water to win the Premier Champions Challenge and Paul Peter's five-year-old can be backed at 25/1 with HollywoodBets. Other names to note in the current betting include Puerto Manzano, Al Muthana, MK's Pride and another of Justin Snaith's former winner, Belgarion.
