The penultimate PGA Tour event before the Masters next week has attracted a strong lineup of the world's best golfers. Who will win the Valero Texas Open this weekend?

Akshay Bhatia returns to defend his title after a playoff victory over Denny McCarthy in 2024.

Past Major winners that will tee off on Thursday include Keegan Bradley, Brian Harman, Matt Fitzpatrick, Hideki Matsuyama, Padraig Harrington, Zach Johnson, Francesco Molinari, Justin Rose, Webb Simpson, Jordan Spieth, Jimmy Walker, and Gary Woodland.

These are our four selections that could win the title this weekend.

Corey Conners

Corey Conners started his season on the PGA Tour playing well, placing T6 at the Nedbank Golf Challenge and T5 at the Sentry.

Conners' form dipped after those results, missing the cut at the Sony Open in Hawaii and finishing T65 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and T74 at the WM Phoenix Open.

Conners has regained his touch lately, placing T24 at the Genesis Invitational, 3rd at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, T6 at the Players Championship, and T8 at the Valspar Championship.

The Canadian has compiled an impressive record at the Valero Texas Open, with results of T26 in 2018, victory in 2019, T14 in 2021, T35 in 2022, victory in 2023, and T25 in 2024.

Conners has a proven track record at this event and has the form to win it for a third time this weekend.

Keegan Bradley

Keegan Bradley started his season on the PGA Tour in excellent form, placing T15 at the Sentry, T6 at the Sony Open in Hawaii, and T15 at the Farmers Insurance Open.

Bradley's subsequent two starts were mediocre, finishing T65 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and T34 at the Genesis Invitational before placing T5 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and T20 at the Players Championship.

The American golfer has made six appearances at the Valero Texas Open, finishing T9 in 2011, T37 in 2016, MC in 2017, T45 in 2018, T23 in 2021, and T8 in 2022.

Bradley has produced solid results this season and should enter calculations.

Daniel Berger

Daniel Berger lacked consistency at the start of his new season on the PGA Tour, with results of MC at the Sony Open in Hawaii, T21 at the American Express, and MC at the Farmers Insurance Open.

However, Berger has been in decent nick lately, placing T2 at the Phoenix Open, 12th at the Genesis Invitational, T25 at the Cognizant Classic, T15 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, and T20 at the Players Championship.

The four-time PGA Tour has yet to have an impact at the Valero Texas Open, missing the cut in 2015 and 2019.

Berger is showing signs he is ready to add another trophy to his cabinet.

Jake Knapp

Jake Knapp had a fair beginning to his season on the PGA Tour, finishing 56th at the Sentry, MC at the American Express, T32 at the Farmers Insurance Open, T33 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, and T44 at the WM Phoenix Open.

Knapp has improved since those performances, placing T17 at the Genesis Invitational, T25 at the Mexico Open, T6 at the Cognizant Classic, and T12 at the Players Championship before missing the cut at the Valspar Championship.

The 30-year-old is debuting at the 2025 Valero Texas Open this weekend.

Knapp has been thereabouts lately and offers excellent value at TPC San Antonio this weekend.

Verdict

Conners loves playing at this course and can secure his third victory at TPC San Antonio come Sunday.

Bradley has all the credentials to emerge as the winner of the Valero Texas Open.

Berger has the form to upstage the others and win the tournament in Texas this weekend.

Knapp has been playing well lately and is the long-shot value bet in San Antonio.
