An elite lineup of the world’s top golfers heads to South Carolina this weekend for the RBC Heritage at Harbour Town Golf Links. Who will emerge victorious in this PGA Tour Signature Event?
Scottie Scheffler returns to defend his title after a three-stroke victory over Sahith Theegala in 2024.
Past and present Major winners in the field include Xander Schauffele, Scottie Scheffler, Wyndham Clark, Brian Harman, Jordan Spieth, Lucas Glover, Shane Lowry, Collin Morikawa, Matt Fitzpatrick, Jason Day, Keegan Bradley, Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, Justin Rose, Adam Scott, and Gary Woodland.
These are our four selections that could win the title this weekend.
Xander Schauffele
Xander Schauffele had a lacklustre start to his season on the PGA Tour by his standards, finishing T30 at the Sentry, T40 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, and 72nd at the Players Championship.
However, Schauffele has shown signs of returning to his best in his last two events, placing T12 at the Valspar Championship and T8 at the Masters last weekend.
The two-time Major champion has attempted to win the RBC Heritage on five occasions, finishing T32 in 2018, T63 in 2019, T64 in 2020, 4th in 2023, and T18 in 2024.
Schauffele has yet to hit his stride this season but has been showing signs he is ready to produce a top result in South Carolina this weekend.
Corey Conners
Corey Conners had a great start to his season on the PGA Tour, finishing T5 at the Sentry before his form dipped, with results of MC at the Sony Open in Hawaii, T65 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and T74 at the WM Phoenix Open.
However, Conners has been in top form in recent outings, placing T24 at the Genesis Invitational, 3rd at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, T6 at the Players Championship, T8 at the Valspar Championship, T18 at the Valero Texas Open, and T8 at the Masters.
The Canadian has achieved solid results in his last five appearances at this tournament, placing T21 in 2020, T4 in 2021, T12 in 2022, T31 in 2023, and T44 in 2024.
Conners has been knocking hard lately and can secure victory at the Harbour Town Golf Links come Sunday.
Shane Lowry
Shane Lowry did not have a great start to his new season on the PGA Tour after missing the cut at the Farmers Insurance Open.
However, Lowry has been in excellent form since that result, placing 2nd at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, T39 at the Genesis Invitational, T11 at the Cognizant Classic, 7th at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, T20 at the Players Championship, T8 at the Valspar Championship, and T42 at the Masters.
The former Open Champion has featured seven times at the RBC Heritage, placing T44 in 2017, T3 in 2019, MC in 2020, T9 in 2021, T3 in 2022, T67 in 2023, and T64 in 2024.
Lowry has been playing well in the past few months and will be challenging for the title this weekend.
Bud Cauley
Bud Cauley was in decent nick at the beginning of his season on the PGA Tour. He finished T30 at the Sony Open in Hawaii, T21 at the WM Phoenix Open, and T56 at the Cognizant Classic before missing the cut at the Puerto Rico Open.
Cauley has found another gear lately, placing T6 at the Players Championship, T4 at the Valspar Championship, and T5 at the Valero Texas Open in his subsequent three starts.
The 35-year-old had made seven appearances at the RBC Heritage, with results of MC in 2010, T37 in 2012, MC in 2013, T9 in 2017, T23 in 2018, T39 in 2019, and Min 2020.
Cauley has come good lately and offers excellent value in South Carolina this weekend.
Verdict
Schauffele has been in solid form lately and has the game to lift the winning trophy at the Harbour Town Golf Links come Sunday.
Conners has done nothing wrong lately and can emerge as the winner of the RBC Heritage this weekend.
Lowry has been thereabouts and should enter calculations in South Carolina.
Cauley has produced excellent results lately and is the long-shot value bet this weekend.
