The DP World Tour and players remain in China to contest the inaugural Hainan Classic this weekend. Which golfer will become the first champion of this new tournament?

Mission Hills was the host venue for the 2011 Golf World Cup, played on the Blackstone Course.

These are our four selections that could win the title this weekend.

Haotong Li

Haotong Li was in decent nick at the start of the DP World Tour season, finishing T52 at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic, T22 at the Ras Al Khaimah Championship, and T24 at the Bahrain Championship.

Haotong Li has bounced back to his best lately, winning the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters before placing T41 at the Magical Kenya Open, T16 at the South African Open Championship, T9 at the Porsche Singapore Classic, and T4 at the Volvo China Open last weekend.

Haotong Li has been in great touch and will fancy his chances to secure victory at the Hainan Classic this weekend.

Wenyi Ding

Wenyi Ding has been in solid form on the DP World Tour lately, placing T20 at the Magical Kenya Open, T14 at the Joburg Open, T14 at the Porsche Singapore Classic, and T8 at the Volvo China Open last weekend.

Before that, Wenyi Ding finished T5 at the ISPS Handa Australian Open and 23rd at the Alfred Dunhill Championship in eight starts.

Wenyi Ding has threatened to secure his maiden DP World Tour title lately and can pocket the winner's cheque come Sunday.

Eugenio Lopez-Chacarra

Eugenio Lopez-Chacarra has been in great touch since the beginning of February, finishing T5 at the International Series in India (Asian Tour) and T20 at the Magical Kenya Open, winning the Hero Indian Open and placing T4 at the Volvo China Open last weekend.

Before those performances, Lopez-Chacarra contested three tournaments on the Asian Tour towards the end of last season, placing T14 at the LINK Hong Kong Open, T5 at the International Series in Qatar, and T6 at the PIF Saudi International.

Lopez-Chacarra has done nothing wrong lately and will be challenging for the title at Mission Hills come Sunday.

Brandon Robinson-Thompson

Brandon Robinson-Thompson could not find any rhythm to his game at the beginning of his DP World Tour season, with results of MC at the Alfred Dunhill Championship, T42 at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open, and MC at the Ras Al Khaimah Championship.

Robinson-Thompson has played well since those results, placing T8 at the Bahrain Championship, 3rd at the Qatar Masters, T41 at the Magical Kenya Open, T7 at the Joburg Open, and T20 at the Singapore Classic before missing the cut at the Volvo China Open last weekend.

Robinson-Thompson has had three top-ten finishes in six starts and can feature prominently at the Hainan Classic.

Verdict

Haotong Li has achieved excellent results this season and can win the Hainan Classic.

Wenyi Ding can convert his consistent results into a winning performance on the Blackstone Course this weekend.

Lopez-Chacarra has been playing well lately and can register his second DP World Tour title this season at Mission Hills.

Robinson-Thompson has been thereabouts and could cause an upset victory in China.
