The DP World Tour, Ladies European Tour and players return to Sweden for the third edition of the Scandinavian Mixed. Who will secure the title in Sweden this weekend?

Linn Grant returns to defend her title after an impressive nine-shot victory in 2022.

Former ten-time Major winner Annika Sorenstam hosts the Volvo Car Scandinavian Mixed at the Ullna Golf & Country Club, achieving victory at this golf course at the 2004 HP Open on the Ladies European Tour.

These are our top three picks that could win this weekend.

Linn Grant

Linn Grant has been alternating between the Ladies European Tour, KLPGA, and LPGA this year, achieving excellent results.

Grant began her year well, placing 2nd at the Lalla Meryem Cup (LET) before missing the cut at the Saudi Ladies International (LET) and finishing T38 at the Honda LPGA Thailand.

However, the 23-year-old regained form by placing T14 at the HSBC Women's World Championship (LPGA) and T4 at the Aramco Team Series Singapore (LET) before contesting two tournaments in Korea, finishing T36 at the Lotte Rent A Car Ladies Open and T18 at the Mediheal & Hankook Ilbo Championship.

Linn bounced back to her best with victory at the Jabra Ladies Open (LET) before placing T21 at the Aramco Team Series Florida (LET) and T3 at the Bank of Hope LPGA Match-Play presented by MGM Rewards.

The Swede was in superb form at the Scandinavian Mixed last year, securing a nine-stroke over Henrik Stenson and Marc Warren. She finished T18 on debut at this event in 2021.

Grant has fond memories of this tournament last year, becoming the first female golfer to win on the DP World Tour, and will fancy her chances to take home the winner's cheque again at the Ullna Golf & Country Club.

Robert MacIntyre

Robert MacIntyre was in average form at the DP World Tour at the start of 2023, finishing T20 at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, T38 at the Dubai Desert Classic, MC at the Singapore Classic, T57 at the Thailand Classic, and T37 at the Hero Indian Open.

The Scotsman regained his touch by placing T7 at the Magical Kenya Open, T6 at the ISPS Handa Championship in Japan, and T7 at the Korea Championship.

MacIntyre withdrew from his next start at the DS Automobiles Italian Open before missing the cut at the PGA Champions and finishing T14 at the recent Porsche European Open.

The 26-year-old is making his debut at the Scandinavian Mixed this weekend.

MacIntyre has had three top-ten places and one top-15 finish in his last five tournaments and will be challenging for the title in Sweden if he can keep replicating those performances.

Alexander Bjork

Alexander Bjork was in decent shape at the start of the new season on the DP World Tour, finishing T28 at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, T16 at the Dubai Desert Classic, T2 at the Ras al Khaimah Championship, T42 at the Singapore Classic, and T28 at the Thailand Classic.

The Swede showed improvement in his game after a two-month break by placing T16 at the ISPS Handa Championship in Japan, T14 at the Korea Championship, 4th at the Italian Open, T4 at the Soudal Open, T29 at the Dutch Open, and T6 at the Porsche European Open last weekend.

The 32-year-old finished T7 on debut at this tournament in 2021 before missing the cut last year.

Bjork has been knocking hard for some months on the DP World Tour and will tee off with confidence in his homeland. Can he finally get over the finish line and win the Scandinavian Mixed come Sunday?

Verdict

Linn obliterated the field last year and has the form to win back-to-back Scandinavian Mixed titles.

MacIntyre has been thereabouts in recent outings and can convert his recent displays on the golf course into victory.

Bjork has done nothing wrong this season and should enter calculations in Stockholm this weekend.
