An elite lineup of the world's best women's golfers are in France to contest the 2024 Olympics tournament at Le Golf National. Which player will rise to the occasion and win the gold medal in Paris?

Nelly Korda of the United States returns to defend his title after a one-stroke victory over Mone Inami of Japan at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.

Le Golf National is the venue of the Open de France on the men's DP World Tour and played host to the 2018 Ryder Cup.

Past and present Major winners who will tee off on Wednesday include Nelly Korda, Amy Yang, Yuka Saso, Minjee Lee, Lilia Vu, Hannah Green, Ashleigh Buhai, Celine Boutier, Georgia Hall, Brooke M. Henderson, Jin Young Ko, Hyo Joo Kim, Ruoning Yin, and Lydia Ko.

These are our four selections that could win the title this weekend.

Lilia Vu

Lilia Vu played well during her opening few tournaments on the LPGA Tour, placing 18th at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions, T55 at the LPGA Drive On Championship and T7 at the Honda LPGA Thailand.

She then had to withdraw from the HSBC Women's World Championship and the Blue Bay LPGA.

Vu finished T37 at the Fir Hills Seri Pak Championship and T21 at the Ford Championship in her following two starts before returning to form, with results of victory at the Meijer LPGA Classic, T2 at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship, T26 at the Amundi Evian Championship and T12 at the CPKC Women's Open.

Vu comes into the Olympics golf tournament in great shape and has claims for the gold medal in France.

Atthaya Thitikul

Atthaya Thitikul started her year on the LPGA Tour in decent nick, finishing 12th at the Chevron Championship before missing the cut at the Cognizant Founders Cup.

Thitikul shrugged off that result, placing T7 at the Mizuho America's Open, T6 at the U.S. Women's Open, 4th at the Shoprite LPGA Classic, T8 at the Meijer LPGA Classic before her form dipped, finishing T52 at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship and missing the cut at the Amundi Evian Championship.

Thitikul will fancy her chances to secure the title in Paris as she has placed inside the top ten four times this year.

Hyo Joo Kim

Hyo Joo Kim had a solid beginning to her season on the LPGA Tour, finishing T5 at the Honda LPGA Thailand, T41 at the HSBC Women's World Championship, T18 at the Fir Hills Seri Pak Championship, T8 at the Ford Championship, T47 at the T-Mobile Match Play, MC at the Chevron Championship and T47 at the JM Eagle LA Championship.

Kim found another gear in May, with results of victory at the Aramco Team Series in Korea (Ladies European Tour), T12 at the U.S. Women's Open, MC at the Meijer LPGA Classic, T16 at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship, T16 at the Lotto Open and T12 at the Amundi Evian Championship.

The world's 12th-ranked player placed T15 overall at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.

Kim can convert her consistent results into a winning one at the 2024 Olympics.

Ruoning Yin

Ruoning Yin was thereabouts at the beginning of her season on the LPGA Tour, finishing T19 at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions, T23 at the LPGA Drive Championship, T58 at the Honda LPGA Thailand, T13 at the HSBC Women's World Championship and 59th at the Blue Bay LPGA.

Yin has shown improvement lately, placing T8 at the Fir Hills Seri Pak Championship, T26 at the Ford Championship, T23 at the Chevron Championship, MC at the JM Eagle LA Championship and T4 at the Cognizant Founders Cup.

She withdrew at the Mizuho Americas Open before finishing T12 at the U.S. Women's Open and T24 at the KPMG PGA Championship.

Yin has been playing well and could upstage the others with the victory at Le Golf National.

Verdict

Lilia Vu will fancy her chances to win the gold medal, as she has been holding form since her recent victory.

Atthaya Thitikul has been knocking hard this year and is a contender to win in Paris.

Hyo Joo Kim has been playing consistently well lately and should enter calculations at the Le Golf National.

Ruoning Yin has the form to become an Olympic Champion in France.
