The DP World returns to Continental European shores for the Italian Open in Rome, with Rory McIlroy, Matt Fitzpatrick and Vikor Hovland headlining the event.
Nicolai Hojgaard returns to defend his title after victory in 2021 at the Marco Simone Golf and Country Club, which will host the 2023 Ryder Cup.
Past and present Major winners in the lineup include Matt Fitzpatrick, Rory McIlroy and Francesco Molinari.
These are our four selections that could win this weekend.
Rory Mcllroy
Rory McIlroy was a three-time winner on the PGA Tour last season to go with multiple top finishes.
McIlroy won the CJ Cup, RBC Canadian Open and the recent season-ending Tour Championship.
Other notable results include second at the Masters, 5th at the Wells Fargo Championship, 8th at the PGA Championship, T5 at the US Open, 3rd at the 150th Open Championship and T8 at the BMW Championship.
The Northern Irishman has made three appearances on the DP World Tour, placing 3rd at the Dubai Desert Classic, T12 at the Abu Dhabi Championship and T2 at the BMW PGA Championship last weekend.
The world number two ranked golfer is making his debut at the Italian Open.
McIlroy comes into this event as the favourite to walk away with the honours, and he will be a hard man to stop as he is playing exceptionally well.
Viktor Hovland
Viktor Hovland had an incredible start to his season on the PGA Tour, racking up three tournament victories in seven starts.
Hovland won the World Wide Technology Championship, the Hero World Challenge, and the Dubai Desert Classic.
Other notable performances on the golf course include placing T4 at the Abu Dhabi Championship, T4 at the Genesis Invitational, T2 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and T9 at the Players Championship.
The Norwegian's form dipped in his subsequent nine starts, with his best results being T18 at the WGC Dell Technologies World Match Play, T27 at the Masters and T21 at the Charles Schwab Challenge.
The 24-year-old has found the form of late, finishing T4 at the 150th Open Championship, T20 at the FedEx St Jude Championship, T35 at the BMW Championship, T15 at the Tour Championship and T5 at the BMW PGA Championship last weekend.
The world's number ten ranked golfer is making his debut at the Italian Open.
Hovland is making a rare appearance on the DP World Tour but will fancy his chances to win another title this weekend as he has been in great touch of late.
Fabrizio Zanotti
Francesco Zanotti's first 10 starts on the DP World Tour for the year produced average to good results, with his best finishes being T18 at the Dubai Desert Classic, T8 at the Betfred British Masters and T32 at the BMW International Open.
The Paraguayan achieved his best result for 2022 when he placed T4 at the Horizon Irish Open, and he has found consistency in his game since that performance.
The 39-year-old finished T36 at the Genesis Scottish Open, MC at the Open Championship, T16 at the Omega European Masters, T12 at the made in Himmerland and T13 at the BMW PGA Championship last weekend.
His last five starts at the Italian Open have been MC in 2016, MC in 2017, T60 in 2018, MC in 2019 and T27 in 2021.
Zanotti is holding form and offers an excellent each-way bet at the Marco Simone Golf Club this weekend.
Masahiro Kawamura
Masahiro Kawamura had a decent beginning to his season on the DP World Tour, with results of T12 at the Joburg Open, T27 at the Ras al Khaimah Championship, T6 at the Ras al Khaimah Classic, T23 at the Soudal Open and T5 at the Porsche European Masters in his first 14 tournaments.
Kawamura's subsequent four starts were poor, missing the cut in each instance. However, he has been in good touch the past few months with consistent performances on the golf course.
The 29-year-old placed T14 at the Hero Open, T9 at the Omega European Masters, T22 at the Made in Himmerland and T18 at the BMW PGA Championship.
The Japanese golfer had great success in his only appearance at the Italian Open, placing T5 overall last year.
Kawamura has looked good lately and is the long-shot value bet at the Italian Open.
