Titans vs Western Province Predictions
After a poor start to the season, Province have finally hit their straps with three wins in a row. The Titans have won two and lost two of their last four completed matches, but their squad is looking strong and, with Heinrich Klaassen finding form, they should have the edge over Province.
- Titans’ Heinrich Klaasen hit five sixes in his innings of 71* against Boland.
- Titans’ Dayyaan Galiem has scored 21*, 55 & 44 in his last 3 innings.
- Western Province’s Edward Moore has scored 87* & 31* in his last 3 innings.
- Western Province’s George Linde has scored 66*, 17, 18* & 49* in his last 5 innings.
Head-to-Head
The Titans have won three of the last five matches between the two teams, although Western Province won the group match earlier in October. The two teams also tied one of those five matches.
Titans Form
After beating the Warriors in their last group game, the Titans lost to the Lions in Qualifier 1.
Dayyaan Galiem’s 44 was the only score above 21 as the Titans folded for 115 off 19.2 overs.
The Lions raced to the win off 16 overs for the loss of just three wickets. Dayyaan Galiem (2/16, econ 4.00) was the pick of the bowlers.
Titans Team News
The Titans squad is well-balanced and they are looking in good form and are unlikely to make any changes to their team.
Western Province Form
Province picked up their third win on the trot when they beat North West by 41 runs in the Eliminator.
Province scored a competitive 166/5 off their 20 overs. The top five all made starts but couldn’t make a substantial contribution, leaving George Linde (49* off 23) to power Province to a defendable total.
North West recovered from the loss of two early wickets with a stand of 70, only to lose their last eight wickets for 48 as they fell 41 runs short of their total. Kyle Simmonds (3/14, econ 3.50) ran through the North West middle-order, backed up by superb bowling from the rest of the Province attack.
Western Province Team News
Western Province are in good form but will struggle against the powerful Titans squad.
Verdict
I am backing the Titans to win. I am also backing Heinrich Klaasen to top score for the Titans.
Edward Moore is a good bet to top score for the Western Province.
