Zimbabwe vs Afghanistan Preview
After a very high-scoring first Test, I am hopeful this one will offer a better balance between bat and ball. That would certainly bring Afghanistan into the game a bit more.

Head to Head
The first Test match ended in a very high scoring draw.
Zimbabwe Form
Zimbabwe will feel slightly relieved to have come away with a draw in the first Test against Afghanistan, despite putting up a massive first innings total on a very flat pitch.
Batting first in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe compiled 586 in their first innings. Sean Williams top scored with 154 runs while Craig Ervine and Brian Bennett also scored 100+ runs.
Afghanistan, however, came back with 699 in their first innings as Zimbabwe’s bowlers struggled to take wickets. In fact, the hosts didn’t take a single wicket for an entire day.
With a first innings deficit, Zimbabwe reached 142/4 before rain put an end the play on the final day.
Zimbabwe Injuries & Team News
Zimbabwe will likely field the same side as the first Test.
Afghanistan Form
Afghanistan were impressive in the first Test against Zimbabwe, but the pitch was very flat and offered the bowlers very little on the opening three days.
After the hosts batted first and scored 586, Afghanistan was under pressure. They lost two relatively early wickets before Rahat Shah (234) and Hashmatulla Shahidi (246) batted through the entirety of day three. Afsar Zazai also scored 113 runs in a total of 699.
With little time remaining, Afghanistan managed to get Zimbabwe to 142/4 in 34 overs before rain ensured there would be no dramatic result.
Afghanistan Injuries & Team News
Afghanistan batted superbly in the last Test and the bowlers had little to work with in the pitch. I’d expect an unchanged side.
Verdict
Afghanistan are backed to win with Rahat Shah tipped to top score in the first innings.
Sean Williams is backed to score big for Zimbabwe after his exploits in the first Test.
