St Lucia Kings vs Guyana Amazon Warriors Predictions

The Amazon are defending champions and have ended as runners-up on five occasions. The Kings were runners-up in 2020 and 2021 and are the only side in the current Caribbean Premier League to not have won the title. The Kings rely heavily on Faf du Plessis and Johnson Charles for runs, while the Amazon have a strong batting line-up and a well-balanced bowling attack that I believe will secure them the title.

The Amazon started badly and with rain clouds threatening they stumbled to 106/4 off 13 overs when the rain set in. Shimron Hetmyer had smashed 37 off 18 balls in an effort to get ahead of the asking rate. The result was decided by DLS method, with the Kings winning by 15 runs. Moeen Ali returned the best figures of 4-0-24-2 (econ 6.00).

The Kings are in good form and are unlikely to make any changes to their team. Johnson Charles needs to score 60 runs in the final to end the tournament as the leading runscorer.

After losing two matches on the bounce (including Qualifier 1 against the Kings), the Amazon bounced back to beat the Royals by eight wickets with 33 balls in hand to clinch their in the final.

Romario Shepherd (3/35) did the most damage to the Royals batters as they struggled to post 148 all out off their 20 overs.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz (40 off 18) and Moeen Ali (44* off 35 balls) got the innings off to a flying start, with Shai Hope (56 off 33 balls) joining in the runs fest. The Amazon secured their place in the final by reaching their target by eight wickets, with 5.4 overs still in hand.
