England has some superb T20 cricketers but they have been inconsistent in this World Cup. India are undefeated and are hitting their best form, with Rohit’s destruction of Australia an indication of their current form. India should claim a confident – albeit close – win over England.

India’s Rohit Sharma hit eight sixes in his innings of 92 against Australia.
India’s Suryakumar Yadav has scored 50*, 53 & 31 in his last 4 innings.
England’s Jos Buttler scored 83* off 38 balls against the USA.
England’s Phil Salt has scored 87* & 25* in his last 3 innings.

Head-to-Head

India has won three of the last five matches between the two sides, but England has won the last two in a row. The last time they played a T20I against one another was in November 2022.

India Form

India made it six wins out of seven matches (one match abandoned) when they beat Australia by 24 runs in their final Super 8s match.

India scored 205/5 off their 20 overs, thanks largely to a punishing innings of 92 off 41 balls by Rohit Sharma.

Australia put up a good fight but ended their 20 overs on 181/7. Arshdeep Singh (3/37) was the pick of the Indian bowlers.

India Team News

India are in great form and are unlikely to make any changes to their team. They will be hoping Virat Kohli hits form to add some extra punch to the Indian top order.

England Form

After losing to South Africa by seven runs, England bounced back by beating the USA by 10 wickets to qualify for the semi-finals.

Adil Rashid (2/13, econ 3.25) bowled magnificently, but Chris Jordan (4/10) took a hat-trick and extended that to four wickets off five balls to close the USA innings out for 115 off 18.5 overs.

Jos Buttler (83* off 38 balls) hit seven sixes as he and Phil Salt (25*) added an unbroken 117 off 9.4 overs to secure the 10-wicket win.

England Team News

England are in good form but their batting is inconsistent from match to match. They are likely to struggle against India’s attack unless they bring their A-Game.
