Bangladesh vs South Africa Women Predictions

South Africa have won 11 of their 14 matches against Bangladesh, losing two and one match ending in a no-result. The South Africans are in top form and should have little difficulty in beating Bangladesh.

  • South Africa Women’s Laura Wolvaardt has scored 40-plus in all three of her innings in this World Cup.
  • South Africa Women’s Tazmin Brits has scored 22, 57* & 43 in her last 4 innings.
  • Bangladesh Women’s Nigar Sultana scored 39 off 44 balls against the West Indies.
  • Bangladesh Women’s Sobhana Mostary has scored 36 & 44 in her last 3 innings.

Head-to-Head

South Africa have won three of their last four matches against Bangladesh, losing one of those matches.

Bangladesh Women Form

Bangladesh have only the slightest chance of making the playoff, but they would need a huge win over South Africa and for England to lose their remaining two games.

After their opening win against Scotland, they lost to England by 21 runs and the West Indies by eight wickets. Bangladesh scored 103/8 off their 20 overs, Nigar Sultana scoring 39 off 44 balls against the West Indies.

The West Indies powered to the win with 7.1 overs to spare and for the loss of just two wickets.

Bangladesh Women Team News

Bangladesh lack the firepower to beat an in-form South African side, but their bowlers have been performing well, so if their batters are able to perform then they could give the Proteas a good fight.

South Africa Women Form

South Africa bounced back from their narrow loss to England by handing Scotland an 80-run defeat.

Laura Wolvaardt, Tazmin Brits and Marizanne Kapp each scored 40s as the Proteas posted a challenging 166/5 off their 20 overs.

Scotland were reduced to 45/6 thanks to Chloe Tryon (2/22) and Nonkululeko Mlaba (3/12, econ 3.00) en route to being bowled out for 86 in 17.5 overs.

South Africa Women Team News

South Africa Women are in good form and are unlikely to make any changes to their team.

Verdict

I am backing South Africa Women to win. I am also backing Laura Wolvaardt to top score for South Africa Women.

Nigar Sultana is a good bet to top score for the Bangladesh Women.
