Lancashire have won one and tied one against Yorkshire this season. The Lightning have had the better of this fixture recently so I’m backing them to win again, but it should be a tight contest.

Yorkshire finished fourth in the North Group with seven wins in their 14matches. They had one tie and six defeats as they sneaked into the quarter-final stage.

In the quarter-final they defeated a Surrey side who topped the South Group with just three defeats in their 14 matches. It must be noted that all teams were without their England internationals for the quarter-final stage.

Batting first, Yorkshire scored 160 in 20 overs as Tom Kohler-Cadmore top scored with 62 runs. It was a very tight contest which came down to the final ball of the match. Surrey fell one run shy of the total.

Consistency has not been the Vikings strong suit this season. They have gone failed to string good results together but should stick with the same lineup that surprised Surrey in the quarters.

Lancashire Lightning Form

Lancashire finished second in the North Group with eight wins from their 14 matches. In their two matches against Yorkshire, the Lightning won by four runs and tied the other fixture.

In the quarter-final, Lancashire faced off against Essex at Old Trafford. Essex batted first, scoring a decent 161 runs in their allotted overs.

While the score looked good for a knockout game, Steven Croft (76 off 48 balls) and Dane Vilas (51 off 23 balls) saw the Lightning cruise to a seven wicket win with more than four overs to spare.
