In a must-win game against the table topping Hobart Hurricanes, the Stars batted first, compiling 219 runs in 20 overs. Beau Webster continued his good form with 51 runs, but it was Glenn Maxwell’s 76 off 32 balls that propelled the Stars to such a big score.

The Hurricanes were toppled for 179 runs with Mark Steketee taking 4-24. That secured a 40-run victory and passage into the playoffs.
