Brisbane Heat can beat Sixers in Sydney (Getty Images)
Sydney Sixers vs Brisbane Heat Preview
Brisbane Heat are undefeated in six matches this season and sit top of the table. The Sixers are just behind them with rain costing them both two games so far. I fancy the Heat to overcome the Sixers in Sydney.

Head to Head
Over the last five matches between these two sides, there have been two no results, two wins for the Heat and a singular victory for the Sixers back in January 2022.
Sydney Sixers Form
The Sixers are second on the BBL table after six matches. They have won three, lost one and also had two no results due to weather.
In their last completed game, the Sixers lost to the Melbourne Stars. On New Year’s Day these teams were meant to play in Brisbane, but the weather didn’t allow a single ball to be bowled.
Sydney Sixers Injuries & Team News
The Sixers have had a solid start to the season. I don’t foresee too many changes for them.
Brisbane Heat Form
The Brisbane Heat currently top the BBL table with four wins from their six matches. They have yet to lose but have had two no results due to the weather.
In their last completed game, the Heat beat Sydney Thunder at home by 15 runs. Batting first, Nathan McSweeney held the innings together, scoring 73 runs. It looked like the Heat were set for a big score but their middle to lower order failed to fire.
It was, however, enough thanks to a good bowling spell by Xavier Bartlett who took 3-29 in four overs. The Thunder were held to 157 in their 20 overs.
The Heat had a home game against the Sixers scheduled for New Year’s Day, but inclement weather forced the game to be abandoned without a ball being bowled.
Brisbane Heat Injuries & Team News
The Brisbane Heat will want to keep their winning momentum going. While they may opt to rotate, the changes are unlikely to exceed two or maybe three.
Verdict
I am backing the Brisbane Heat to win this top-of-the-table clash with Nathan McSweeney to top score for the visitors.
For the Sixers, I'm backing James Vince to top score.
