South Africa have shown a lot of fight during their tour of India and have certainly grown from the experience, but having lost the WODI series 3-0 as well as losing the one-off Test, it’s hard to see them having the firepower to win a WT20Is against them.
- India Women’s Smriti Mandhana has scored 3,220 runs in her WT20I career.
- India Women’s Harmanpreet Kaur scored 103* in the 2nd WT20I against South Africa.
- South Africa Women’s Laura Wolvaardt has scored 135*, 61 & 122 in her last 4 innings against India.
- South Africa Women’s Marizanne Kapp has scored 114, 74 & 31 in her last 4 innings against India.
Head-to-Head
The two teams have both won two matches out of the last four they have played against one another. South Africa won the most recent clash by five wickets to secure the Tri-Series against India and the West Indies in South Africa in February.
India Women Form
India won their last five WT20Is against Bangladesh for a 5-0 series whitewash.
They secured a 5-0 series win after scoring 156/5 at Sylhet, Smriti Mandhana
(33 off 25 balls) and Dayalan Hemalatha (37 off 28 balls) getting the innings off to a quick start.
Bangladesh were reduced to 52/5 in the 10th over and couldn’t get their chase back on track, ending on 135/6 off their 20 overs. Radha Yadav (3/24, econ 6.00) and Asha Sobhana (2/25, econ 6.2) were exceptional with the ball.
India Women Team News
India Women are in superb form and are unlikely to make any changes to their team.
South Africa Women Form
South Africa’s last five WT20Is have seen them lose once and win once against Australia Women, as well as losing two matches and winning one against Sri Lanka Women. They lost both series 2-1.
South Africa went into the 3rd WT20I against Sri Lanka needing a win to take the series, but they were beaten by four wickets in the last over. South Africa scored 155/6 off their 20 overs, Laura Wolvaardt scoring 56 off 47 balls and Nadine de Klerk smashing 44 off 25 balls, including three sixes.
India got off to a flying start and were 102/1 in the 13th over, but South Africa fought back superbly to reduce them to 136/4 in the 18th over, but India rallied to secure the win.
South Africa Women Team News
South Africa’s top-order needs to offer more support to Wolvaardt and Klopp. Their bowling has been good but they need to bowl even tighter to challenge this powerful Indian side.

I am backing India Women to win. I am also backing Smriti Mandhana to top score for India Women.
Laura Wolvaardt is a good bet to top score for South Africa Women.
