Boland vs Dolphins Predictions
Boland topped the table after a superb season which saw them lose just one match. Their bowling has played a key role in their success, with their batters supporting them well. The Dolphins are in good form, but Boland are performing better as a unit, which is why I am backing them for the win.
- Boland’s Gavin Kaplan scored 46 in last innings in the win over Western Province.
- Boland’s Blayde Capell (59) has top-scored in their last match win over Western Province.
- Dolphins’ Hanu Viljoen has scored 74, 64* & 57 in his last 3 innings.
- Dolphins’ JJ Smuts has scored five half-centuries in his 8 innings.
Head-to-Head
The teams have contested just two matches in the tournament, with each side claiming one win. Two scheduled matches have been rained-out.
Boland Form
After suffering their first loss of the season to the Knights, Boland won their last two completed matches to end top of the table and secure their place in the final.
Their last group match saw them beat Western Province by five wickets with 39 balls to spare. After a good start, Shaun von Berg (3/44) pulled the brakes on the WP batters. Province were bowled out for 182 in the 46th over.
The Boland top four made short work of their target, winning by five wickets in the 44th overs. Blayde Capell (59) and Gavin Kaplan (46) did the bulk of the run-scoring for Boland.
Boland Team News
Boland topped the table, but none of their batters have dominated the batting charts, partly as their bowlers have done so well. Boland will be hoping their batters post a challenging score if they bat first.
Dolphins Form
The Dolphins made it five wins on the bounce when they beat the Titans in the Qualifier.
The Dolphins recovered from 91/5 to post 228/8 off their 50 overs. Hanu Viljoen (57) and Eathan Bosch (40) added 86 for the sixth wicket to keep their side in the game.
Tristan Luus (3/48) and Keshav Maharaj (3/37) ripped through the Titans top order as the Blue collapsed to 163 all out off 36.4 overs.
Dolphins Team News
The Dolphins lost their opening two matches before going on a five-match winning streak to reach the final. The team is in great form and they are unlikely to make any changes to their team.
Verdict
I am backing Boland to win. I am also backing Gavin Kaplan to top score for Boland.
Hanu Viljoen is a good bet to top score for the Dolphins.
