Head to Head
Perth Scorchers have won their last five matches against the Renegades. Last season the Scorchers won by six wickets.
Melbourne Stars Form
The Melbourne Stars endured a torrid season last time out and this one has not started much better.
In their opening game, the Stars were beaten by 103 runs against the Brisbane Heat. The bowlers struggled to find their rhythm on a flat wicket and conceded 214 runs.
It was always going to be a struggle from there for the batsmen. No one really got going although Glenn Maxwell threatened briefly with 23 runs off 14 balls. Hilton Cartwrigtht top scored on 33 runs but it was nowhere near enough.
Melbourne Stars Injuries & Team News
It is unlikely that the Stars will start making big changes to their side but they will need to stop the rot before they end up going on a four or five-game losing streak.
Perth Scorchers Form
The Perth Scorchers are the defending BBL champions after dominating last season. They topped the table, winning 11 of their 14 matches.
They were pushed all the way in the final by the Brisbane Heat but had enough quality to see it through. This season began with an abandoned fixture against the Melbourne Renegades.
Scorchers batted first, reaching 30-2 after seven overs before the rain came and never left.
Perth Scorchers Injuries & Team News
The Scorchers are expected to once again challenge for the title. They are the most successful BBL team and have a very consistent squad, albeit without many big names.
Verdict
The Perth Scorchers are set for a comfortable win against the struggling Melbourne Stars.
