  • The Orcas are a heavyweight side in this tournament with explosive talent that makes them favourites for the title.
  • Orcas topped the table and were unlucky to lose the final.
  • MLC starts on 5 July, with the final set for 28 July.

Season preview

It was almost cruel that the Orcas lost in last season’s final after winning four of their five group games, followed by the Eliminator and the Challenger. They have two of the best T20 hitters in the world in Quinton de Kock and Heinrich Klaasen, and have added plenty of bowling fire-power in the draft. They will be hard to beat and super determined to finally claim their title!

New players

The West Indies’ Obed McCoy is an experienced left-arm paceman who will enjoy working with two young but explosive pace bowlers in Nandre Burger (South Africa) and Zaman Khan (Pakistan), all three of whom could prove real match-winners.

There is added pace from Lance Morris and Nathan Ellis (both Australia), while Michael Bracewell of New Zealand will add his valuable spin skill as well as weighing in with runs. South Africa’s Ryan Rickelton is a great backup keeper and a powerful T20 batter.

Key players

Aaron Jones, Heinrich Klaasen, Imad Wasim, Michael Bracewell, Obed Mccoy, Quinton De Kock, Ryan Rickelton and Wayne Parnell.
