Season preview
New York squeaked into the playoffs in 2023 but then turned on the power through Dewald Brevis and Nicholas Pooran, the latter smashing 137* in the final to clinch the MLC title. A bowling attack that includes Rashid Khan, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, Trent Boult and Kieron Pollard surely stands a great chance of defending their title.
New players
South African fast bowler Anrich Nortje had an excellent World Cup and his pace and aggression will complement his compatriot Kagiso Rabada. West Indian bowling allrounder Romario Shepherd can be tricky with the ball and devastating with the bat when given the chance.
