Expired
Travis Head hits over the top against the Super Giants.
Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Gujarat Titans Predictions
Sunrisers have two games in hand and could qualify with their existing 14 points… but they could also be overhauled and miss out. They need just one point to secure their playoff place, with both their matches against sides that have missed out on the playoffs. The Titans cannot make the playoffs, but will be playing for pride and with the hope of finishing as high up the table as possible.
- Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Travis Head has scored 58, 48 & 89* in his last 3 innings.
- Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Abhishek Sharma hit six sixes and eight fours in his innings of 75 off 28 balls in the win over the Lucknow Super Giants.
- Gujarat Titans’ Sai Sudharsan has scored 31, 65, 84* & 103 in his last 5 innings.
- Gujarat Titans’ Shubman Gill scored 104 off 55 balls in the win over the Chennai Super Kings.
Head-to-Head
The Sunrisers won the first match between the two sides, but the Titans won the next three matches, including the group game earlier this season.
Sunrisers Hyderabad Form
After losing three of their last four matches, the Sunrisers bounced back by smashing the Lucknow Super Giants by 10 wickets.
The Sunrisers bowled superbly, with Bhuvneshwar Kumar (2/12, econ 3.00) excelling with the ball as the Super Giants struggled to 165/4 off their 20 overs.
The Sunrisers barnstormed their way to victory as Abhishek Sharma (75* off 28 balls) and Travis Head (89* off 30 balls) shared an unbroken stand of 167 off just 9.4 overs.
Sunrisers Hyderabad Team News
The Sunrisers’ have rediscovered their form from a few weeks ago and should give the Titans a tough time.
Gujarat Titans Form
The Titans bounced back from three losses in a row to beat third-placed Chennai Super Kings by 35 runs.
Sai Sudharsan (103 off 51 balls) and Shubman Gill (104 off 55 balls) smashed 210 for the first wicket in 17.2 overs, hitting 13 sixes between them to set up a final score of 231/3 off their 20 overs.
The Super Kings recovered from 10/3 in the third over but couldn’t keep up with the asking rate against excellent bowling from Rashid Khan (2/38) and Mohit Sharma (3/31).
Their following match was abandoned by rain.
Gujarat Titans Team News
The Titans are out of contention for the playoffs but have found some batting form, so with no pressure on them, they might play with a freedom that could present the Sunrisers with a big challenge.
Verdict
I am backing Sunrisers Hyderabad to win. I am also backing Travis Head to top score for Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Sai Sudharsan is a good bet to top score for the Gujarat Titans.
