The West Indies take on the USA in Harare as in their first match of the second round of qualification for the Cricket World Cup. The Windies should stroll to victory against their minnow counterparts and should blast their way to victory in this One Day International.

The Caribbean side have won their last 5 matches in preparation for this qualification tournament. A 3-0 series clean sweep over UAE was followed by a 91-run win over Scotland.

Their last warm up was a crushing 114-run win over UAE again. The Windies posted 374/9 in the first innings with Rovman Powell smashing 105 runs. UAE managed to post a respectable 260/9 in reply but ultimately stood no chance from the start against such an imposing total.

Team news has not been released yet but we expect a full-strength lineup for the first match.

USA Form and News

The USA did well to qualify top their group in the first round of qualification and win all their matches. They would then go onto lose by 5-wickets against Ireland in their next match.

A 198-run loss against Sri Lanka is the most recent result. Sri Lanka posted a monstrous 392/5 total in the first innings. USA were never in the match against a much better side and were eventually bowled out for 194.

The squad is yet to be announced but expect their strongest first XI to be named.
